Opportunator is a directory of opportunities with application deadlines. The only personal information we hold is the email address of people who ask us to email them, and we would rather explain that plainly than bury it.
What we collect
If you subscribe: your email address, the interest tags you picked, and the date you confirmed. That is the whole record. We do not ask for your name, your company, or anything else.
If you just read the site: aggregate page-view statistics through Vercel Web Analytics. It is cookieless and does not build a profile of you or follow you to other sites. We see that a page was viewed and roughly where from; we cannot see that you viewed it.
We set no advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no consent banner to click past.
Why we collect it
To send you the email you asked for, and to understand which parts of the directory people find useful. Nothing else.
What we never do
- Sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone.
- Email you without your explicit confirmation. Signing up sends one confirmation link and nothing more until you click it.
- Use your data to train machine learning models.
Leaving
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe that works immediately, with no confirmation step and no attempt to talk you out of it. Unsubscribing stops all email.
To have your record deleted outright rather than just marked unsubscribed, email hello@opportunator.com and we will remove it and confirm. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold — for a subscriber that is one row, and we will send it as-is.
Where it lives
Subscriber records are stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL). Confirmation and unsubscribe emails are sent by Resend. Both process this data on our behalf and neither is permitted to use it for their own purposes. The site is hosted on Vercel.
If you are in the EU or UK: our lawful basis is your consent, given when you confirm your subscription, and you may withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link or the email address above.
Listing data
The opportunities themselves are public information — a programme, its deadline, and a link to the organiser’s own page. If you run a programme we have listed and want it corrected or removed, email us and we will action it. See our crawler page for how we collect it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your data, subscribers will be told by email before it takes effect.
